Cruise Social Club Game Plan

Your Game Plan

From your group cruising notes to a website that brings in groups

Here is your website, what we found when we researched group cruising in Australia, and what I would do next, week by week, with the costs.

What you told me

  1. Cruise Social Club, on cruisesocialclub.com.au, for Australians first and New Zealanders too.
  2. It is mostly for groups, not individuals: families, friends, seniors, milestone celebrations, weddings, corporate, themed, solo and expedition groups.
  3. An organiser sends you their group details, you ring the cruise lines, find pricing for that group and occasion, and email them a quote.
  4. People can join as members, with their names kept in a member list, and you would like a login page for members.
  5. Your colours are navy and gold, with your line: Your people. Your cruise. Your adventure.
  6. You are starting part time, so it needs to work without a lot of looking after.
  7. You want a real business behind it, everything in writing, the freedom to leave any time, and full access to your website.

Your website

Built from your document, five pages

Everything on the site leads to one thing: making it easy for the person organising a group to tell you about it.

  • HomeWhat you do, how it works, who they will deal with (you), and a group boarding pass to start a quote straight away.
  • Group cruisesAll nine group types from your document, each with your shortlist of cruise lines.
  • WeddingsHow a wedding cruise works, the four lines you compare, and the questions couples should ask.
  • Get a group quoteThree short steps. You receive one tidy group brief with everything you need to start ringing the cruise lines.
  • Join the ClubThe member sign-up. A membership card fills in with their name as they join, and every member lands in your member list.

The idea at the centre

Group cruising is really blocks of cabins. On the site, people set their group size and watch the cabins fill on a drawn ship, with a marker at eight cabins, where several big lines start treating a booking as a group. None of the eleven businesses we looked at does anything like it, and it explains your job in one glance.

Kept honest on purpose

  • No prices, discounts or free cabin promises. Those depend on each line, ship and date.
  • No reviews, awards or accreditation badges until they are real for you.
  • Weddings: several lines say a ceremony at sea is symbolic, not legally binding. The page says so.
  • No promise about how fast you reply, unless you are happy to keep it every time.

The Game Plan

  2. Week 6

    Cruise forums

    We build
    • The Cruise Critic Australian boards where people ask about group sizes and weddings at sea
    Social
A tip post: why 8 cabins matters

  3. Week 7

    Reviews from day one

    We build
    • A simple way to ask each organiser for a short review after their trip
    Social
A tip post: budgeting for every generation, drinks, gratuities and excursions
    From you
Ask every organiser for a review when they are home
  4. Week 8

    A small Club test

    We build
    • If you want it: a small Facebook test aimed at solo travellers and over 50s, sending people to Join the Club
    Social
The Club post, with the best of what has worked
    From you
Only once you are booking through your host agency, so no enquiry is wasted

Who else is out there

Eleven businesses, one gap you can own

BusinessWhat they doWhat they miss
Cruise Holidays AustraliaThe closest direct competitor: social, family, special-interest and corporate groups, and weddings at sea.No enquiry form at all, just an email address and phone.
Cruise GuruA group team for 8 or more cabins. The form asks about logistics only, nothing about the occasion.
Cruise TravellerGroups handled through a separate email address.Groups are an inbox, not a process.
CruiseaboutA big national retailer with stores. Its quote form stops at four cabins, so a group cannot describe itself.
Clean CruisingA top-rated online cruise agency (4.9 stars from 650 reviews).Nothing for organisers. Strong trust signals to learn from.
Bon Voyage (NZ)Reunions, milestone birthdays and destination weddings.A generic contact form, but it tells two real group stories well.

Not one of them asks what the group is celebrating, or makes a group enquiry feel like planning a trip. Their trust comes from accreditation, review scores and real group stories. You will build those. Until then, the site leans on the honest thing you do have: one experienced person who reads every enquiry and picks up the phone.

Your questions

Can I leave any time, or is there a contract?

You can leave any time. There is no long contract, and everything we agree is written down in your agreement.

Will I have full access to my website?

Yes. It is your website. If you ever want to take it somewhere else, we send you all the files.

Do I need Instagram and TikTok as well?

Facebook and Instagram, with the same posts on both, three a week. Leave TikTok for now: your organisers, retirees and families are on Facebook.

Can members log in?

The member sign-up and your member list are built and ready. I have held the login back for now, because there is nothing members-only to put behind a password yet, and an empty members' area looks worse than none. The day your first members-only sailing exists, we add the login. If you want it from day one, tell me.

Will people find me on Google and in AI search?

Yes. The site is connected to Google, and every month we look at what people are searching for and tailor the site so more of them find you.

Worth checking

Four things to sort before the site goes live

  • Your logo

The globe-and-ship logo in your branding picture belongs to another company (the image came from allaboardcruises.ca). Using it could cause you real trouble, so we drew you an original porthole emblem in your navy and gold.

  • How bookings will be made

To hold group cabins and be paid commission, most independent agents in Australia work under a host agency or network (for example TravelManagers, MTA or itravel). You book under their accreditation and keep most of the commission. Each charges differently, so compare two or three. The site shows no accreditation until it is true for you; then we add your host and "ATIA Accredited" to the footer.

  • Your member list and privacy

The sign-up asks for clear consent and records what each person agreed to and when, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Australia's privacy rules can apply once you pass members' details to cruise lines, so we recommend one hour with a lawyer to confirm the privacy policy before launch. This is our reading of the rules, not legal advice.

  • Your photos

Some of the pictures in your document look like cruise-line or AI images. Please check you are allowed to use each one, or we swap them.

Later, only when it is needed

  • Member login, the day your first members-only sailing exists.
  • A page for each club sailing, so members can see the ship, the dates and how to join.
  • A wedding guest page, so each guest can see the plan and book their own cabin.

How we can help

The whole plan, and how we get you there

The website is the start. Here is what else we do, in the order I would add it. None of it is needed on day one, and each one is your choice, when you are ready.

  • From week 1

    Social media management

    $249 a month

We run your Facebook and Instagram for you. Posts planned around your group ideas, written and designed in your navy and gold, and published Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You approve each week's posts in one go. This is the Social line in your week-by-week plan.

  • Month 2

    Google Business Profile

    $599, once

We create your Google profile and get it verified, with the right category, your service area, your hours and your website link, so people searching for a cruise agent can find you on Google and Maps.

  • Week 7

    Review kit

    $199, once

Your own Google review link, a printable QR card and a ready-to-send message, so asking each organiser for a review after their trip takes a minute. Needs your Google profile first.

  • Once you book through your host agency

    Facebook and Instagram ads

    $999 setup, then $499 a month

We make your ads every month, run them, and send you a report on what came in. You pay Facebook for the ads directly, so you always see what is spent. 30 days notice to stop.

Add the Google profile or the review kit within 30 days of your site going live, and that one is half price.

Have a look, then tell me everything

Open the website, try the boarding pass and the cabins, and reply with anything you would change. Nothing is too small.
